Conveyancing Tips and Advice

April 12, 2018 By

A house move is often high on people’s list of stressful events. It can be one of the most expensive purchases you will make in your life. Most people choose a lawyer to do the conveyancing work (the legal work) on their behalf. This is because buying and selling a property involves many legal requirements which need taking care of.

Among some of the most important legal tasks are making sure that:

  • The proper planning permissions are in place for any development works carried out at the property;
  • Making sure that the seller has the legal right to sell the house;
  • Ensuring that financial obligations will have been paid prior to completion;
  • Preparing and agreeing contracts with the other party and then exchanging contracts.

At Hart Jackson & Sons we can usually offer a fixed fee quote for our residential conveyancing work. We do not have any referral agreements with third parties and are completely independent. You can obtain a quote by either calling us or completing the form on our website.

We have a Law Society accreditation for Conveyancing Quality. We have a long-established knowledge of the local area and are happy to meet with you to discuss your property transaction.

For important tips and advice on what to expect we recommend looking at the Legal Ombudsman’s guide ‘On the move: a guide for first time buyers’. Click here.
